NayKid Racing Brings Viper Strike to SCCA Runoffs

LEXINGTON, Oh., September 19, 2005 - NayKid Racing enters Friday's SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Kohler at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course ready to strike with its pair of Dodge Viper SRT10s in the Touring One (T1) class. Drivers Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) and Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.) each earned class titles in their division- Lux in the Northern Pacific Division (NorPac), White in the Southern Pacific Division (SoPac)- in their first season of racing the formidable V10-powered machine. Now they bring the newest iteration Viper, the SRT10, to the SCCA National Championships for the first time. Having spent much of the year developing the car with Dodge Motorsports, the SRT Division of DaimlerChrysler, Lux Performance Group, LLC and technical partner KUMHO Tires, momentum has the NayKid Vipers coiled and ready. Lux, in the No. 78 KUMHO Tires/Woodhouse.com Viper, and White, in the No. 3 Viper also backed by KUMHO Tires and the Woodhouse Auto Family, will each challenge to give Dodge and SRT their first-ever T1 national titles for the Viper just as they gave the American supercar its first divisional titles last month.

"I am not going to sit here and make promises on how we are going to run this year at the Runoffs because so many things can happen," said Lux. "All I am going to say is the cars are ready and the drivers are super-eager and very hungry. KUMHO has great tire underneath these cars that is really getting the job done. My hat's off to them once again. I think it would be appropriate to stamp a NayKid Racing driver's name in the record books as winning the last Runoffs at Mid-Ohio. I feel 100% physically and I'm ready to get back up on the wheel of the number 78 car."

The SCCA Runoffs is a unique event in the world of motorsports. Unlike other series that crown their national champion from a season-long collection of points earned at each event, the 13-race NayKid schedule only served to win the division titles and an invitation to the Runoffs. Here at the week-long National Championships, the 21 class titles- three of which Dodge is represented- will be decided in one race. The added pressure is something that NayKid Racing has become accustom to.

"It's really a weird feeling going into Runoffs as a dark horse," offered White about the position of the team in the season's premier race. "We have been going into the event the past several years with people predicting us as the ones that could finally steal one away from the GM Factory team. Now, here we are starting from scratch with a brand new car and people are so worried about us getting it done. Who in their right mind would expect anything better than a top-10 in a brand new car in this tough, talent-rich field? We have had amazing support from KUMHO Tires. I love this hot rod and I love workin' with the guys from Dodge/SRT and Mopar. It's so awesome to visit with any of these guys and they are actually excited for you when you make progress! They are passionate about the hot rods they build and it just feels so right to have the honor of flyin' their colors!"

"Having Dodge now in the hunt for the championship is great and it adds diversity for the fans," Lux picked-up White's thought. "That is what it's all about. I wouldn't be surprised to see more Vipers out there next year. But you know what? We were the team that took the chance with this car, rolled the dice and hopefully we will win the jackpot."

The KUMHO Tires/Woodhouse.com Vipers will take to the track for the first round of qualifying at 1:50 PM (EDT) on Tuesday, Sept. 20th. Second-round qualifying will take place on Wednesday at 4:15 PM while the final field will be set on Thursday at 9:50 AM. A final warm-up will take place at 9 AM, Friday, Sept. 23rd with the race scheduled for the green flag at 3:20 PM (EDT). The race will be 40-minutes or 20 laps of the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course. Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.) will pilot a third NayKid Racing entry at the Runoffs. Snodgrass will run the No. 75 KUMHO Tires Chevrolet Corvette in T1 competition alongside Lux and White.

NayKid Racing is set for the challenge of the Runoffs and welcomes all comers. "We know we have a lot of work to do and we also have the chance to prove our mettle as a team," concluded White. "I can tell you one thing though; this team has a fire in their belly like I haven't seen in a while. They have the desire to shut some people up who think we forgot how to build hot rods or the shoes forgot how to drive on this team. This team will do everything necessary to prove the doubters wrong! Even with the phenomenal strength of NayKid Racing as a team, a top-five or a podium would be a dream season."

"Ya know what?" asked White as a final thought. "The last time the team was in this position we won the biggest race of the team's career."

SPEED Channel will air each event at this year's SCCA Runoffs on a tape-delay basis. The T1 class race will be shown at 1 PM (EST), November 26th, 2005. Live timing and scoring of each session can be found at:

NayKid Racing Bruised But Not Out After June Sprints

ELKHART LAKE, Wisc., June 30, 2005 – Sunday’s June Sprints was no walk in the park for NayKid Racing. The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 class defending champions of the event would take one top-five finish and send two cars away on the flatbed tow truck. In 2004, Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) led teammate Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.) to the checkered flag in a run-a-way NayKid Racing victory at the classic SCCA Club Racing event after White set a new track record and won the pole position.

2005 would be a far different matter. Lux out-qualified teammate Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.) and White with the No. 78 KUMHO Tire/ Forgeline Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust/ Nike Racing/ Moton Shocks Dodge Viper SRT10 and began to pull away at the green flag. Only seconds later Snodgrass got rear-ended into the concrete wall in Turn One. Lux, then in turn six, got pancaked into cement wall while trying to avoid a car reentering the track after it had lost control. Both were out of the race. White would continue on to finish fifth in T1 with his No. 3 KUMHO Tire/ Forgeline Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust/ Moton Shocks Dodge Viper SRT10. For Lux and Snodgrass it marked the first DNF (Did Not Finish) in over 50 races spanning the past two years in NayKid Racing machines.

Snodgrass sustained no serious injury in part due to the use of the HANS head and neck system. Lux, however, suffered two broken ribs on her left side and some pulled ligaments as a result of the hard impact with the retaining wall on the driver-side of her car. Both the No. 78 Dodge Viper SRT10 of Lux and the No. 75 KUMHO Tires/ Suburban Chevrolet Corvette of Snodgrass suffered serious damage in their separate impacts. The two NayKid entries were shipped to Michigan where they are currently undergoing extensive repairs to be ready for NayKid Racing’s next scheduled event at Watkins Glen International on July 10th. Lux is continuing her rehabilitation in the Portland suburb of Aloha, Ore.

Developing the new KUMHO Tire/ Forgeline Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust/ Moton Shocks Dodge Viper SRT10s for competition in the T1 class continues to take time. However, a recent SCCA rules break gave the team out of the Northwest new hope to again win their divisions for the season. While the car was considerably more responsive to setup changes and is utilizing the strong KUMHO rubber more, it continues to suffer in straight-line speed due to a 40% air restrictor on the V10 powerplant. The lack of horsepower is especially important at tracks like Road America’s 4.048-mile course. The Fred Lux-prepared cars will continue to be developed with an eye towards a return to NayKid Racing’s traditional domination of the production car-based class in 2006.

Quotes:

Cindi Lux: “Meeting my teammate in the in field medical care center really isn’t something I want to do again! It’s either bitter or sweet for us at the June Sprints. What a ghastly weekend for the team. But one thing is for sure, the Viper SRT is one tough car! NayKid Racing is not used to results like this past weekend but we will be back stronger than ever. What this has done is get the entire team more fired up, if that possible, to get our Vipers to the front. Just got to keep digging and digging and digging until we get there. I know we will be back.”

Scotty B. White: “What a brutal weekend for the NayKid Team. Showing up as defending champions and going home with a fifth, two banged-up cars and an injured driver is likely the lowest point ever for us. Between the 40% restrictor on the Vipers and the dumb-ass moves of two other drivers, we are left with a pretty poor result. I can tell you one thing though, this team is more determined than ever to overcome all this and return to our winning ways. The Dodge guys helped us all weekend to find speed and the KUMHO Tires had that Ecsta bite we need for the Vipers. Now we just need the SCCA to dump these restrictors so we can compete, we’ll stop repainting the cars every weekend from all the hammering they are taking running in the back!”

NayKid Racing Posts Two One-Two's In Seattle

Puyallup, Wash., June 5, 2005 - Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.) was holding his confidence in check when he arrived at his local track, Seattle's Pacific Raceways, last weekend. The 2004 Rocky Mountaind Division SCCA T1 class champion had a new Dodve Viper SRT10 under him that has been experiencing teething pains in the opening rounds of NayKid Racing's season in T1 class of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). when the dust had settled, White and teammate Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) walked away with a win apiece in the two-event weekend in the NayKid Racing KUMHO Tire / Forgeline Wheels / Moton Schocks Dodge Viper SRT10s. Capping the weekend was teammate Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.) who impressed by posting some of the fastest laps of his young career.

Snodgrass out-qualified his more experienced teammates in the first race of the weekend, sitting second on the grid with White third and Lux fourth. While Snodgrass was hit by another competitor damaging his NayKid entry, White went on to win the first T1 race of the weekend on Saturday. The technical Pacific Raceways road course played to the strengths of the stock Viper and the expert driving experience of Lux and White. They went on the attack and took one-two in the running order at the checkered flag with White's No. 3 stretching across the start-finish line first.

In race two, Lux, the 2004 NorPac Divisional T1 Champion, turned up the heat even more. She posted the fast lap in qualifying to set the No. 78 KUMHO Viper on the pole while Snodgrass again had a strong qualifying run in his Suburban Chevrolet / Corsa / Kodiak Wheels / KUMHO ride replicating his first race with a second quick time. White was right behind in third. The trio stayed that way through the event, with Snodgrass alling off the podium to fourth, due to a pit stop. Lux and White ran to the finish taking the checkered flag one-two for a second time in as many races.

Celebrating the success of the weekend was welcome. Even more welcom, and encouraging, is that this was done with the stock suspension that SCCA rules had required the Vipers to run. However, as of this week, the SCCA technical committee has ruled that, in light of the modifications granted to other cars in the class, Dodge's V10-powered car would be given an equal upgrade to its suspension.

The opportunit for success at the class's biggest events - including the upcoming Rose Cup at Portland, June Sprints at Road America, and Runoffs at Mid-Ohio at the end of the season - has grown substantially with the SCCA's decision. NayKid Racing will have the new suspension, as well as other approved or required modifications, made entering the Rose Cup events on June 8-10th.

Quotes:

Scotty B. White: "Boy, it was nice to run at the home track with all the friends and family there! It must have really had an effect on Ryan because he was multiple seconds faster this year. We had a good run. We've been working hard for this and that effort is really starting to pay off. I can't wait to get the T1 suspension package SCCA finally allowed us for Rose Cup. Now the hard work really starts. Trying to get these smokin' SRT10 hot rods up front for Rose Cup and Sprints!"

Cindi Lux: "Pacific Raceways is such a classic race track of the '60's. It's super fast and the risk factors are huge for car and driver. My teammate Ryan must be drinking triple shot espresso's before qualifying because he is getting super quick! Only .01 [seconds] off my pole time for the second race! Our new Viper SRT10's sure do get the attention from all the fans and spectators which is pretty cool. One of the unbeatable things about these Vipers is how low maintenance they are. Truly a 'gas and go' race car. They're impressive."

Dodge Motorsports and NayKid Racing Announce 2005 Viper T1 Program

PUYALLUP, WASH., February 17, 2005 – Dodge Motorsports and NayKid Racing are proud to announce that the multi-division Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) champions will make a momentous move and campaign two Dodge Viper SRT-10s in the 2005 SCCA T1 class. NayKid Racing owner Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.) and Managing Director Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) will be the first drivers to pilot the V10-powered American Supercar since 2002. The announcement is less a launch and more of a reunion for both sides. White earned an SCCA Solo title in a Dodge Viper and Lux started her immensely successful career racing a Dodge against now Dodge Motorsports Director, John Fernandez in the late 1980s.

Following a dominating season in-which the team won every regular season race on the way to two divisional titles, team principals Lux and White began an exhaustive search to create an even stronger program in 2005. An agreement between Dodge Motorsports, Mopar Performance Parts, Dodge’s SRT Division and NayKid was reached making the first two-car punch for Dodge in the T1 class. Longtime team sponsor KUMHO Tire will return in ’05 with a Dodge Viper version of their very successful V710 tire.

The American Le Mans Series’ inaugural Women’s Global GT Series champion, Lux will pilot the No. 78 KUMHO Tire/ Mopar Performance Parts/ Dodge Motorsports NayKid Racing Dodge Viper SRT-10. Lux, who became only the second woman to win the prestigious SCCA June Sprints at Road America last season, will challenge for her third-straight NorPac Divisional T1 Championship as well as pursue the unprecedented SCCA Triple Crown (wins at both the June Sprints and Runoffs matched to a Divisional title) in ’05.

White, a six-time SCCA T1 division champion, including the 2004 Rocky Mountain Divisional T1 titleholder, will wheel the No. 3. KUMHO Tire/ Mopar Performance Parts/ Dodge Motorsports NayKid Racing Dodge Viper SRT-10. In 2004, he had a nearly undefeatable season winning 10 poles, seven wins and three track records in 11 races. Only Lux could challenge her teammate as the two swapped first and second-places not only race after race but lap after lap.

While primary support for the 2005 Viper program will come through KUMHO Tires, Dodge Motorsports, Mopar Performance Parts and the SRT Division of Dodge, further support will come from new partners Forgeline Wheels and Moton Shocks along with longtime partners RedLine Oil, CORSA Exhaust, Nike Racing and UPR Racing.

NayKid Racing was formed to be a championship-winning effort. 2004 titles include Lux’s Northern Pacific and White’s Rocky Mountain T1 Championships. Lux had also won the Northern Pacific title and Oregon SCCA National Driver of the Year in 2003 while White won the Southern Pacific title. Since its creation, NayKid has earned eight SCCA Division T1 championships, as well as five SCCA Pro Solo and eight Solo II titles. With a focus on winning, NayKid Racing balances the intense workload of racing with a lighthearted attitude that encourages fun at the track.

Quotes:
John Fernandez, Director of Dodge Motorsports: “It has been one of our main goals to position the Dodge Viper SRT-10 with a highly professional and successful organization in the SCCA T1 class. We are very pleased to announce that we have done just that by entering into this program with NayKid Racing. Scotty B. White and Cindi Lux have each proven themselves on the track as competitors. They have also proven, through the team they have created together at NayKid Racing, to be able to spearhead a race and development program that will show results. The T1 class will place the Viper SRT-10 against many of the same cars that it competes with in the showroom. We feel that this is the perfect environment and the perfect team to display the strength of the Viper SRT-10, in nearly street-legal form, against all challengers.”

Rudy Consolacion, KUMHO Tire motorsports manager: “We’ve worked with NayKid Racing for eight years. We have enjoyed great success with Scotty, Cindi and the rest of the NayKid gang in SCCA Club Racing and SOLO II competition. We expect that success to continue during the next two years. We’re looking forward to the added excitement and exposure that NayKid will provide KUMHO because of the Vipers they’ll be racing. Like KUMHO, Dodge has shown a strong commitment to the SCCA, and we’re happy to see Dodge join the NayKid Racing team.”

Cindi Lux: “This change of manufacturers will come as quite of a shock for a lot of people. But it’s absolutely the best decision for NayKid Racing. We are not in this sport for the short term. Both Scotty and I have a long term goals and this fits perfectly into our plans. Everybody on the team is so fired up to help Dodge get the Viper back into T1 racing and it’s going to be one wild ride. I wouldn’t miss for the world! Needless to say, there is a tremendous amount of work to do this year but I guarantee you there will be a lot of laughs a long the way.”

Scotty B. White: “This deal looks so right for NayKid Racing to hook up with Dodge and race Vipers on KUMHO Tires. The Viper SRT-10 has really pulled it all together. It has the sophistication of a world class sports car without losing a step from its gnarly ‘in your face’ beginnings. It’s a no apologies, take no prisoners ass kickin’ hot rod! Just like the KUMHO V710 tire and NayKid Racing, no apologies necessary!”

NayKid Racing Streaks Through 2004

PUYALLUP, WASH., November 10, 2004 - Few would argue that NayKid Racing dominated the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1-class this season. However, principals Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.) and Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) strongly argue they could do better. The two, each driving one of the three KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ CORSA Exhaust/ Red Line Oil Corvette Z06s, are looking at what can be done to strangle the breath out of the competition in 2005. Competition that they left gasping in 2004.

In 2004, NayKid Racing streaked through the first 11 races of its
12-race season taking every pole position and winning every race leading up to the finale. Few in motorsports can make the claim that they won 92% of their races this season. Fewer yet can claim that they did it against some of the best competition in the class. Beyond the wins, the team took 11 of 12 pole positions and two championships. White had the most successful year in NayKid's intra-team competition. He won seven races, 10 poles and broke three track records on his way to the Rocky Mountain T1 Championship. Lux, who won four races including the prestigious June Sprints at Road America, won her second consecutive Northern Pacific T1 Championship. She would also pull down six second-places, three track records and one pole. The June Sprints victory earned Lux the honor of being only the second woman in history to win the event. Ryan Snodgrass of Kirkland, Wash. was the third in the trio of NayKid pilots. Snodgrass joined the Puyallup, Washington team after a limited career in the sport. He did not win in his rookie year but raced to several top-tens and his first SCCA podium finish.

NayKid Racing entered the season-finale, the invitation-only SCCA Runoffs at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course undefeated. The winner-take-all event that decides the T1 class National Champion would be the only significant disappointment for the long-time, multi-championship winning effort. All three KUMHO Tire-shod cars were invited to the event, a noteworthy accomplishment in its own right, and would leave with two top-ten finishes. The frustration began early in the week as Lux found the wall in her only accident of the year. The NayKid crew got Lux's No.78 KUMHO/ Suburban Corvette back in the show but qualified deep in the pack. In her usual aggressive style, Lux charged back up through the field for an eighth-place finish. By week's end, White would take NayKid's highest finish at the Runoffs. His No.3 KUMHO/ CORSA Exhaust/RedLine Oil Vette ran in the top-five throughout the day and left with a fourth. Snodgrass, in his first Runoffs' effort, ran to an impressive top-15 [qualifying].

A completely dominating season it was not. However, few teams have ever come closer. With lessons learned from 2004, 2005 promises to be better yet. White and Lux have a strong, multi-year strategy charted with a path to the top. The '04 season marked the second year in the plan and the trend of the last two seasons suggest that the 2005 will be the strongest yet. a worrisome thought to anyone without a NayKid Racing decal on their car.

Quotes:
Cindi Lux: "If you want an example of a team that pays attention to
every single, small detail; go no further. We spent an enormous amount of time going over every inch of these cars and had a testing schedule second to none. Lady luck bit us pretty damn hard at the last race of the year but that happens in racing. Everybody behind the scenes, from the most dedicated crew to the most supportive sponsors, are the reason for our success. Having two of the best teammates didn't hurt either! But, 2005 is right around the corner and it's time for us to get back to the drawing board. We have a ton of work to do."

Scotty B. White:
(about the season): "I don't think it has really sunk in to everyone
yet. I think, out of the stats, the one that speaks the loudest is the zero DNF deal. We took the checker every time we took the green, every car, every race! That speaks to the dedication of our crew. Our sponsors provided us with great products from the KUMHO tires to Loyning motors to the Redline Oil that keeps 'em spinnin'! And Chevrolet built a pretty dern good, 'lil hot rod for us to start with! This team is an amazing group of people. Everyone has such a burning desire to win and does whatever it takes in order make it happen. I am super impressed with Ryan, this guy has dodged more wrecks this year than any rookie driver should have to! Cindi and I raced harder this year than we ever have and traded a little paint to prove it. A huge thank you goes out to every one of our great sponsors and every team member that worked their butt off to achieve this killer season!"

(about the Runoffs): "Picture this; a little kid kicking his
fourth-place trophy down the street all the way home from the 'big game' where his team lost. That's how I felt for a couple weeks after the Runoffs. The reality is this team had such an unreal season it would have been a miracle to continue the performance all the way through the Runoffs"

NayKid Runoffs at Mid-Ohio

LEXINGTON, OH., September, 20, 2004 – NayKid Racing has dominated the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 class in 2004. In 11 races, lead drivers Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) and Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.) have taken 11 wins, 11 pole positions and two divisional titles. However, as the three-Corvette C5 Z06 KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ CORSA Exhaust/ Red Line Oil team enters Friday’s SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Kohler all bets are off. Unlike any other season-based national title, SCCA National Champions are decided not by a season-long tally but, instead, in one, winner-take-all, 45-minute race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course here in Lexington. Lux (red Corvette, No. 78) and White (white, No. 3) will be joined by Ryan Snodgrass of Kirkland, Wash. (black, No. 75) who is making his first Runoffs appearance following a strong 2004 T1 class rookie season for NayKid.

The NayKid Racing triple-threat for victory is good. White has had the strongest season coming into his seventh Runoffs start. White, who was part of the inaugural T1 class Runoffs race in 1998, took the top-step of the podium seven times in ’04. He also enjoyed 10 poles and three track records. Lux, who spent the early part of the season still strengthening her shoulder from an injury at last year’s Runoffs, beat White to the line in the remaining events earning four wins, six second-places, three track records and one pole. Included in her tally was a spectacular June Sprints title at Road America. With that victory, Lux became only the second woman in the 49-year history of the SCCA major to win the event. That prestigious victory, plus her NorPac title, also gave Lux the chance to make history at this year’s Runoffs as the first woman in history to win the SCCA Triple Crown. A win at the Runoffs would give Lux the final jewel in the SCCA Triple Crown (June Sprints, divisional title and a Runoffs victory). Snodgrass did not take a victory in his rookie season but earned his spot at the Runoffs with several top-tens and his first podium finishes in SCCA racing. While this is his first visit to Mid-Ohio for the Runoffs, Snodgrass has a goal becoming the highest finishing rookie against the best competition in the class.

In a season without a single DNF by any NayKid entry, the team has earned…

    * Northern Pacific T1 Championship (Lux) and Rocky Mountain T1 Championship (White)
* 11 total races, 11 wins, 11 pole positions
* 6 different tracks, 6 track records
* Six NayKid Racing podium sweeps, 9 second place finishes, 8 third place finishes
* June Sprints win (Lux), June Sprints pole (White)

NayKid Racing will have three qualifying sessions, the first on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 2:25 pm (ET), Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 9:25 am and Thursday, Sept. 23 at 9:50 am. The three NayKid Vettes will turn their KUMHO Tires at the drop of the green flag for the championship race on Friday, Sept. 24th at 3:20 pm. The race will be broadcast on SPEED Channel, Sunday, November 21 at 3 pm (ET). As a special bonus, White will be carrying the SPEED Runoffs onboard camera in his No. 3 KUMHO Tire Corvette.

Quotes…

Cindi Lux: “Whoever is going to win this thing will have to drive a flawless race. A little bit of luck along the way won’t hurt either. The field is large and the competition is more fierce than anything we’ve seen all year. But, what else would you expect at the National Championship? With the competition in T1 getting faster and faster, it will be fun to see if we have done our homework correctly and be as competitive as we have been all season. I think the way Scotty and I have been running all year shows how hard our crew has worked, how good our sponsors’ products really are, and how much we try to improve our driving in non-traditional ways. No more talk, it’s time to go racing and see what happens.”

Scotty B. White:

(about the Runoffs) “The Runoffs are a phenomenal event. I love the event, I love the track. It’s kind of a bummer one race has so much importance placed on it but the reality is that it is the same for everyone. The team has not been laying around with its feet up watching soap operas. We are doing everything we can to make sure we get the best result possible. The preparation is all there, KUMHO has the tire. We just need to get on the track and make it happen. It’s one event and we’ve had an incredible season. It makes me confident in one way but it makes me a little nervous of the possibility that lady luck might catch-up to us on the wrong day. It truly would be everything for one of us to win the Runoffs. It would be huge. The only thing that would be bigger is to have the other one on the second-step and a top-ten for Ryan on his first trip to the Runoffs. The goals won’t come easy but they are doable. We’re just going to lock and load and get it on and see who comes out the other end.”

(about the importance of the Runoffs compared to the undefeated season) “If it doesn’t happen it is almost to be expected but it will be disappointing. It would be absolutely beyond glorious to cap this season off with a win at the Runoffs. But, it won’t take away from the year we’ve had if it doesn’t happen. It would be silly think that we would ever be able to duplicate 33 starts and 33 finishes. So, it would be hard to tarnish what has happened this season. We are just looking to put a crown on it. The opportunity is there to go forward and turn an incredible season into an unbelievable season that couldn’t be duplicated. What we’ve done is done and there is no taking that away.”

The NayKid Truth

by Tom Moore, NayKid Racing

Racing, no matter if you’re at Le Mans or making your first start in a SCCA autocross, is a tough business. The truth about racing is that it takes dedication, hard work and more than just a little sacrifice while offering more disappointment than celebration. Few teams have come to the SCCA Runoffs here at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with a better understanding of all it takes to win at the National level than NayKid Racing of Puyallup, Wash. However, despite having earned eight SCCA division T1 titles, as well as five SCCA Pro Solo Championships and seven Solo II titles, the crown jewel, a win at the Runoffs, has eluded the team and its drivers.

The three KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust Corvette Z06s of Scotty B. White of Puyallup, Wash. (white, No. 3), Aloha, Oregon’s Cindi Lux (red, No. 78) and Ryan Snodgrass of Kirkland, Wash. (black, No. 75) come to the Runoffs to try and put the final touches on a dominating season and return to the Northwest with the T1 National title in their grasp. What is being called NayKid’s “2004 Destruction Tour” will make its final ’04 appearance here this weekend having concluded a sweep of the 11 events around the country.

Lux and White battled like dire enemies rather than the close friends and teammates that they are this season. During the season, NayKid Racing’s KUMHO Tire-shod Corvettes have won every event entered, taken nine one-two finishes and swept the podium six-times. White walked away with the Rocky Mountain T1 divisional championship while Lux grabbed her second-straight Northern Pacific class title. In the process, the team obliterated six track records and White won the pole position for the June Sprints at Road America and Lux became only the second woman in the 49 year history of the June Sprints to win the event.

Entering the 2003 Runoffs, NayKid had 11 victories in 13 starts and was looking at a probable national title. However, an injury to Lux and a rare mechanical issue for White kept the team from victory lane once again. Since the disappointing checkered flag last year, NayKid has approached the 2004 Runoffs with laser precision.

While Snodgrass is a rookie at the Runoffs, White and Lux have each competed here several times. White was part of inaugural T1 class round in 1998 and has finished on the podium every year since. Despite being major contenders in motorsports, neither White nor Lux holds a SCCA National road racing title. Lux was the 1999 American Le Mans Series (ALMS) Women’s Global GT Series champion and will be going for a tri-fecta in 2004 by attempting to add a Runoffs’ title to her division title and June Sprints crown. White was the first driver to ever win a professional road racing event with the Chevrolet Corvette C5 (Vancouver, SCCA World Challenge, 1999). However, year in and year out, both have fallen just short of the most prestigious award in SCCA racing.

Now, NayKid comes to culmination of the year’s effort. If hard work, determination and attention to detail again payoff, as they have all year, NayKid Racing will earn that first title with one of its triad of Corvettes. And that is the NayKid Truth.

NayKid On Top Again – Lux Makes History

ELKHART LAKE, Wisc., June 21, 2004 – NayKid Racing brought its KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust Corvette Z06s to Road America to size itself up to the best competition in North America. What they found was what they have found at every stop this season, the Puyallup, Washington team is their own strongest competition. In the end, Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) became only the second woman in the 49-year history of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) June Sprints to win the event.

She outran the ultimate T1 class competition, her own teammate Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.), into the first corner of the first lap. And, even with a late race caution that forced a two-lap runoff to the checkered flag, Lux kept White nipping at her CORSA Exhaust crossing the finish line only 0.647 seconds in front to add her page to the history of the event.

Cindi Lux: “I told the guys before this started that we better buckle our seatbelts extra tight. It’s nice for NayKid to come in first and second. Scotty still amazes me in qualifying. He really laid one down that none of us could get close to. It was a great showing for KUMHO, their tires are truly the best or we wouldn’t be having this tremendous success. It was an awesome weekend. To finish one-two was a great statement for the team, especially after last year when we left here with two DNFs. One more lap would have given us a great team battle but it all looks the same in the record books. As a team we had a pretty dominating weekend but we had our struggles too. We had to fight for it, and that makes it pretty sweet. In the end it was all the same, NayKid on top!”

Scotty B. White: “The NayKid Racing destruction tour continues. We’re coming to your town and we want your pole, your track record and your checkered flag; so sit down, shut-up and relax, we’ll be gone tomorrow. No seriously, it has been fun and the competition at the sprints was some of the best we’ve seen this season. On the restart I was fourth with two lap cars between myself and third and we managed a charge to second. Everybody at NayKid worked together as a team. When you get to this track it will really show your weakness and my car was nowhere on Friday. The NayKid crew jacked-up the radiator cap and replaced the car underneath for me. We rolled out Saturday and were on it. It was fun to finally to get some competition and even more fun to come out on top.”

June Sprints Come to Road America

ELKHART LAKE, Wisc., June 18, 2004 – NayKid Racing will face its biggest challenge of the 2004 Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 season this weekend here at Road America. The June Sprints, at the beautiful, tree-lined Elkhart Lake, Wisc. track, is traditionally the biggest gathering of top SCCA competition from around the country prior to the season-ending National Championship Runoffs presented by Kohler in September. As such, the event is a dress rehearsal for NayKid Racing who has dominated events around the country in the modified, street-stock T1 class in their three identically prepared 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06s riding on KUMHO Tires.

The KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust team of Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.), Cindi Lux (Aloha, Or.) and Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.) has won the pole and taken the race win in each of the events the team has entered to this point in 2004. The 4.48-mile, 12-turn natural terrain road course and national competition promises to give the NayKid Racing team, of Puyallup, Wash., its best reference point for where it stands against the strongest T1 cars in America.

White, who won the 2003 T1 title in the Southern Pacific SCCA Division, as well as the ’03 SCCA Pro Solo and Solo II class Championships, leads the team with five race wins, seven pole positions, three track records and three other podium finishes. Lux, the 2003 SCCA T1 Northern Pacific Division and Oregon National Driver of the Year as well as 1999 ALMS Women’s Global GT Series champion, is pushing White hard with three victories on her side with one pole- two new track records- and five second places.

Scotty B. White: “YEE-HAW, BABY! This track is a hoot, nothin’ but fast corners and lotsa wide open track and hard on the brakes. It will separate drivers from the rest. I love this track! I think the toughest competition here comes from under the NayKid tent, Cindi is getting faster every race and our KUMHO's just keep diggin’.”

Cindi Lux: “Last year’s June Sprints was bittersweet. Scotty qualified on the pole with a new lap record but retired from the race. I led part of the race but also had to retire with a mechanical problem. So let’s just say we have something to settle up on! Hopefully this year we will have a better outcome…I am so ready for this race, I cannot stand it!"

NayKid Racing won 11 of 13 T1 races entered in 2003, earned 15 podium finishes, 11 pole positions and set six track records. Since its creation in 1998, NayKid has earned six SCCA division T1 titles, as well as five SCCA Pro Solo Championships and seven Solo II titles. The team made history at Mosport in 1999 becoming the first Corvette team to win a SPEED World Challenge GT race. White finished as runner-up in Rookie of the Year honors that same year. Over the course of his two season participation in SPEED World Challenge GT, White finished in the top-10, an amazing 78% of the time!

NayKid Playing In the Rain at Portland

PORTLAND, OR., May 18, 2004 – NayKid Racing rolled into its home track— Portland International Raceway (PIR)— this weekend for the Oregon May National with a streak of dominating victories in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 class. A light but constant rain fell on the NayKid steamroller as the three KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust Chevrolet Corvette Z06s were positioned for the start of Saturday’s race.

At the front of the grid, owner/ driver Scott B. White, Puyallup, Wash., won the pole for the race resetting his own 2003 track record by over 1.3 seconds with a time of 1.23.1 seconds. Cindi Lux, Aloha, OR., who was just two tenths behind in her No. 78 Vette, sat next to White with the No. 75 Ryan Snodgrass, Kirkland, Wash. in third. Lux and White looked more like bitter rivals rather than teammates as they battled in the rain for the front-spot lap-after-lap. On the white flag lap, White led Lux until the No. 3 slipped slightly in the rainy conditions. Lux took advantage of the split second opportunity and edged White at the checkered flag taking her second consecutive T1 victory of the season. Snodgrass came home third.

To put an exclamation point on the weekend, NayKid Racing entered Lux and White into an ITE class event on Sunday while Snodgrass remained in T1. Starting near the back of the 60-car field, White and Lux fought their way past the pack to take the top two spots, respectively, overall in that event while Snodgrass took his first ever T1 class victory.

Cindi Lux: “Saturday was a good, old fashion Northwest rain race. It wasn’t wet enough to make the change to a full wet setup. I had a blast! I just love racing in the rain and I know, being from the Northwest, Scotty does too. Scotty’s car stepped out a tad bit on the last corner and that was enough to take the win. We are running each other as hard as we can this year every single race. We are great friends but that friendship takes a backseat when we are on track. You have to have a tremendous amount of trust with the other driver to race like we did! The KUMHO Tires were once again awesome. It was also icing on the cake to give Ohlins [Ohlins Shock Absorbers] their first T1 win in a C5 Corvette.”

Scotty B. White: “That was Cindi’s second win of the season and that’s about enough. I’m really jacked-up for the rest of the year. I was very pleased with the times we were running. There was pretty much a dry line but it wasn’t completely dry and definitely very wet off line and we were still running within a tenth of the track record. You just didn’t want to be in a position where the other one could dive in and make you move off line. I was leading on the last lap and the car stepped a little and I had to breathe the throttle and Cindi won by about ten inches. It was awesome. I don’t want to sound cocky but I’m gaining confidence with each weekend. It was a stellar weekend. It is good to race at home.”

NayKid Racing has won each of the five 2004 SCCA T1 races it has entered, swept the podium three times and broken the track record at every track this year. They won 11 of 13 T1 races entered in 2003, earned 15 podium finishes, 11 pole positions and set six track records.

Corsa Performance Exhaust Announces Sponsorship of NayKid Racing's Corvette Z06 Team

BEREA, Ohio – (April 26, 2004) – CORSA Performance, an engineering and manufacturing company that specializes in high performance stainless steel exhaust products for the automotive industry, is an associate sponsor of the NayKid Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 team competing in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 National Championship series.

"We love the CORSA Performance Z06 titanium exhaust," said Cindi Lux, driver and managing director, NayKid Racing. "The tuning and performance delivered by this top-line system is just what we need to help win races and it hasn't let us down."

CORSA's exhaust uses patented Reflective Sound Cancellation™ (RSC™) technology, which simultaneously enhances the Corvette's sound while eliminating the head-pounding cabin resonance found at 1500-2200 cruise RPM. Increasing exhaust flow by 32%, the straight-through, nonrestrictive design of the exhaust system is specifically tuned for use on the Corvette.

"With this new exhaust system, the cars are faster, lighter and have a better sound quality on the track," said Scotty B. White, NayKid Racing team driver, who, in his season debut, won and set a new track record with the new exhaust system. "I had no idea how much this system would help…wow!"

The Puyallup, Wash.-based NayKid Racing team won 11 of 13 SCCA T1 races entered in 2003, earned 15 podium finishes, 11 pole positions and set six track records on the way to two divisional championships.

In addition to supplying the Corvette Z06 exhaust system, the sponsorship deal includes placing CORSA Performance logos on all NayKid Racing team drivers' suits, vehicles and banners. CORSA Performance literature is also distributed at all NayKid Racing events.

"Working with NayKid Racing is a great way to highlight the performance capabilities of our product," said Louise Quigley, director, marketing and planning, CORSA Performance. "Their team of highly skilled and dedicated drivers has a history of posting a number of impressive wins and we're thrilled to be part of that success."

NayKid Racing will be running three KUMHO Tire/Suburban Chevrolet/RedlineOil/Kodiak Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06s this season. The trio of Scotty B. White (driving the No. 3), Cindi Lux (driving the No. 78) and team newcomer Ryan Snodgrass (driving the No. 75) hope to dominate again this season.

Since its creation in 1998, Naykid Racing has earned six SCCA division T1 titles as well as five SCCA Pro Solo Championships and seven Solo 11 titles. Naykid Racing was the first Corvette team to win a SPEED World Challenge GT race at Mosport in 1999.

Focusing on the development of proprietary technology, CORSA Performance employs patented Reflective Sound Cancellation™ technology in its performance automotive exhaust systems.
NayKid In Colorado - Pueblo Double Race Weekend Domination

PUEBLO, Col., April 20, 2004 – fresh off a sweep of the podiums at the first two races of the year, NayKid Racing kept a stranglehold on the T1 class of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) this weekend at Pueblo (Colorado) Motorsports Park.

The trio of KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust Chevrolet Corvettes came to Colorado looking for serious competition to see how they stack-up running KUMHO Tire’s V700 series racing rubber against the latest from Hoosier and Goodyear.

At the last event, the team was able to run the new, faster V710 tire, but KUMHO Tire has pulled that product from SCCA Competition. While KUMHO Tire resolves a minor certification issue, NayKid is back on the Victoracer KUMHO Tires.

At the end of the weekend, the white Z06 Vette driven by Scotty B. White, (Puyallup, Wash.) and the red Corvette of Cindi Lux (Aloha, Or.) had each taken a pole position and victory. Teammate Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.) continued with an excellent rookie season.

White, last year’s SCCA Southern Pacific Division and Pro Solo and Solo II champion, won both Saturday’s overall pole position and race victory. His unrelenting drive in the race left his teammate Lux to duke it out with the former Acura and Oldsmobile works’ driver Bob Schaeder. At the end, Lux finished in a close third position.

Sunday brought a reversal of position but not fortune for NayKid Racing. After an evening of fighting flu-like symptoms, Lux, the 2003 SCCA T1 Northern Pacific Division and Oregon National Driver of the Year, rallied to a new track qualifying record in her No. 78 Suburban Z06 Chevrolet. A flawless drive produced her first victory of the year in Sunday’s race. White had the duty of battling it out with Schaeder on Sunday. The battle was fierce and relentless as White finished in the third-spot. The top-three cars were all running under the lap record during the race.

Scotty B. White: “Holy shiznit! I’ve got to admit, we’ve been so focused on how awesome the new V710 is, I was a bit apprehensive about going to a track we've never seen before to run against one of the best drivers in the country without it! But it was un-freekin-believable! I forgot how good our ol’ friend the Victoracer is! We owned that place by the time the weekend was over! GO NAYKID! Cindi and Ryan stepped up and kicked sand in those guy’s faces at their home track. I mean c’mon, new qualifying & race lap record, pole & win both days, I am so proud of this whole team I can't stand it!”

Cindi Lux: “I think this weekend shows two things. First, KUMHO Tires builds the best tire there is out there. Think about it… it really doesn’t matter which tire we run on, they all can produce top results! We know, as a team, that whatever KUMHO Tire we’re on, we have the tools to do our job and that’s to win. We were on rails! Secondly, this NayKid Racing team can overcome anything! A couple of days ago there were a lot of unknowns about the setup on the Suburban Chevrolet Corvette and this weekend we came together in championship style and made a statement! It just took me a little longer this year to grab my first win. But we are back on track.”

NayKid Racing Sweeps First Two Podiums of 2004

PUYALLUP, WASH., March 23, 2004 - NayKid Racing entered its first weekend of the 2004 Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 race season this past weekend with the goal of sweeping every position on the podium. Mission accomplished at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, Calif.

The three-car Corvette Z06 team of Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.), Cindi Lux (Aloha, Or.) and Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.) dominated the two-race weekend with their three KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust Chevrolet Corvettes in a fashion that made even their 2003 results (11 wins in 13 races) look second-rate.

White, who won the 2003 T1 title in the Southern Pacific SCCA Division, as well as the '03 SCCA Pro Solo and Solo II class Championships, won the pole position and both races in his No. 3 KUMHO Tires' Corvette. Hot on his heals was Lux, who won the 2003 SCCA Northern Pacific Division T1 title and Oregon National Driver of the Year, in her No. 78 Suburban Z06 Chevrolet. The 1999 American Le Mans Series Women's Global GT Series champion finished second in both races. SCCA T1 class rookie Snodgrass took the final step of the podium in his first two races with NayKid driving the No. 75 Corvette.

White and Lux each obliterated the Thunderhill T1 class track record in both qualifying and the race on the first day and then quickly bettered those hot laps on day-two. The two pushed each other across the finish-line of Sunday's race with a nip-and-tuck battle that kept onlookers glued to the front of the field. The battle proved that the greatest competition for NayKid Racing in 2004 may very well be NayKid Racing.

Scotty B. White: "It was an awesome result. We were a little nervous about knocking the cobwebs off and we had some good competition out there. Obviously, the team hasn't lost a step. This was our first try on a bumpy track with the new KUMHO Tires. And it came together just great. The crew was awesome. The guys worked so hard to make it perfect. Nobody on this team bitches, nobody moans, they just want to get the results. What a great start to the season. Knocking four seconds off the track records is a pretty good whack. Looks like Cindi's shoulder is back. I'm just jacked-up for Pueblo [Colorado, the next SCCA T1 race weekend that NayKid Racing will compete in]. There's a couple more big dogs in Pueblo so we're going out to find the competition."

Cindi Lux: "It was Scotty's weekend. He had the car to beat. I was chasing hard and made him work for it but he deserved the win. I was flat-out impressed with the new KUMHO Tires. The KUMHOs are so good; there is so much grip! The exciting part is that we have some more work to do in order to take FULL advantage of these tires and hopefully become even faster. We were testing a number of new products on the car. The new CORSA Exhaust system really impressed us too. It performed flawlessly. Ryan, our new teammate, did a great job with his first race in this car. It's all about fun… and that's something we definitely know how to do!"
