Corsa Performance Exhaust Announces Sponsorship of NayKid Racing's Corvette Z06 Team

BEREA, Ohio – (April 26, 2004) – CORSA Performance, an engineering and manufacturing company that specializes in high performance stainless steel exhaust products for the automotive industry, is an associate sponsor of the NayKid Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 team competing in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 National Championship series.

"We love the CORSA Performance Z06 titanium exhaust," said Cindi Lux, driver and managing director, NayKid Racing. "The tuning and performance delivered by this top-line system is just what we need to help win races and it hasn't let us down."

CORSA's exhaust uses patented Reflective Sound Cancellation™ (RSC™) technology, which simultaneously enhances the Corvette's sound while eliminating the head-pounding cabin resonance found at 1500-2200 cruise RPM. Increasing exhaust flow by 32%, the straight-through, nonrestrictive design of the exhaust system is specifically tuned for use on the Corvette.

"With this new exhaust system, the cars are faster, lighter and have a better sound quality on the track," said Scotty B. White, NayKid Racing team driver, who, in his season debut, won and set a new track record with the new exhaust system. "I had no idea how much this system would help…wow!"

The Puyallup, Wash.-based NayKid Racing team won 11 of 13 SCCA T1 races entered in 2003, earned 15 podium finishes, 11 pole positions and set six track records on the way to two divisional championships.

In addition to supplying the Corvette Z06 exhaust system, the sponsorship deal includes placing CORSA Performance logos on all NayKid Racing team drivers' suits, vehicles and banners. CORSA Performance literature is also distributed at all NayKid Racing events.

"Working with NayKid Racing is a great way to highlight the performance capabilities of our product," said Louise Quigley, director, marketing and planning, CORSA Performance. "Their team of highly skilled and dedicated drivers has a history of posting a number of impressive wins and we're thrilled to be part of that success."

NayKid Racing will be running three KUMHO Tire/Suburban Chevrolet/RedlineOil/Kodiak Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06s this season. The trio of Scotty B. White (driving the No. 3), Cindi Lux (driving the No. 78) and team newcomer Ryan Snodgrass (driving the No. 75) hope to dominate again this season.

Since its creation in 1998, Naykid Racing has earned six SCCA division T1 titles as well as five SCCA Pro Solo Championships and seven Solo 11 titles. Naykid Racing was the first Corvette team to win a SPEED World Challenge GT race at Mosport in 1999.

Focusing on the development of proprietary technology, CORSA Performance employs patented Reflective Sound Cancellation™ technology in its performance automotive exhaust systems. CORSA's 100% stainless steel cat-back exhausts are specifically tuned to each vehicle to eliminate passenger cabin resonance and to produce just the right sound. CORSA offers performance exhaust systems and accessories for cars, trucks and SUVs.

NayKid In Colorado - Pueblo Double Race Weekend Domination

PUEBLO, Col., April 20, 2004 – fresh off a sweep of the podiums at the first two races of the year, NayKid Racing kept a stranglehold on the T1 class of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) this weekend at Pueblo (Colorado) Motorsports Park.

The trio of KUMHO Tire/ Suburban Chevrolet/ Redline Oil/ Kodiak Racing Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust Chevrolet Corvettes came to Colorado looking for serious competition to see how they stack-up running KUMHO Tire’s V700 series racing rubber against the latest from Hoosier and Goodyear.

At the last event, the team was able to run the new, faster V710 tire, but KUMHO Tire has pulled that product from SCCA Competition. While KUMHO Tire resolves a minor certification issue, NayKid is back on the Victoracer KUMHO Tires.

At the end of the weekend, the white Z06 Vette driven by Scotty B. White, (Puyallup, Wash.) and the red Corvette of Cindi Lux (Aloha, Or.) had each taken a pole position and victory. Teammate Ryan Snodgrass (Kirkland, Wash.) continued with an excellent rookie season.

White, last year’s SCCA Southern Pacific Division and Pro Solo and Solo II champion, won both Saturday’s overall pole position and race victory. His unrelenting drive in the race left his teammate Lux to duke it out with the former Acura and Oldsmobile works’ driver Bob Schaeder. At the end, Lux finished in a close third position.

Sunday brought a reversal of position but not fortune for NayKid Racing. After an evening of fighting flu-like symptoms, Lux, the 2003 SCCA T1 Northern Pacific Division and Oregon National Driver of the Year, rallied to a new track qualifying record in her No. 78 Suburban Z06 Chevrolet. A flawless drive produced her first victory of the year in Sunday’s race. White had the duty of battling it out with Schaeder on Sunday. The battle was fierce and relentless as White finished in the third-spot. The top-three cars were all running under the lap record during the race.

Scotty B. White: “Holy shiznit! I’ve got to admit, we’ve been so focused on how awesome the new V710 is, I was a bit apprehensive about going to a track we've never seen before to run against one of the best drivers in the country without it! But it was un-freekin-believable! I forgot how good our ol’ friend the Victoracer is! We owned that place by the time the weekend was over! GO NAYKID! Cindi and Ryan stepped up and kicked sand in those guy’s faces at their home track. I mean c’mon, new qualifying & race lap record, pole & win both days, I am so proud of this whole team I can't stand it!”

Cindi Lux: “I think this weekend shows two things. First, KUMHO Tires builds the best tire there is out there. Think about it… it really doesn’t matter which tire we run on, they all can produce top results! We know, as a team, that whatever KUMHO Tire we’re on, we have the tools to do our job and that’s to win. We were on rails! Secondly, this NayKid Racing team can overcome anything! A couple of days ago there were a lot of unknowns about the setup on the Suburban Chevrolet Corvette and this weekend we came together in championship style and made a statement! It just took me a little longer this year to grab my first win. But we are back on track.”
