Kudos to Cindi and Scotty for Speed World Challenge

Kudos to my former NayKid Racing team mates, Cindi Lux and Scotty White, for stepping up to the SPEED World Challenge GT series for the 2007. In their second race of the season at Miller Motorsports Park, Cindi took 13th after an early incident dropped her back to 27th. Cindi's great charge forward was recognized by receiving the Piloti Rookie of the Race award as the highest finishing rookie.

June Sprints Pivotal Event on NayKid Racing Schedule

ELKHART LAKE, Wisc., June 19, 2006 - Every year the Kohler / Chicago Region June Sprints (R) at Road America is a pivotal event for NayKid Racing. The team, based in the Northwest, of Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) and Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.) either wins the event in dominating fashion or faces a repair bill for damaged race cars. In the three previous years that the team has traveled to the 4.048-mile road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisc., they have won (2004) and been pulled off the track by a wrecker. Only White seems immune to the damage side of the equation but success has not fallen his way at the famed course either. As an even numbered year, Lux and White hop to stand on top of the podium again at the conclusion of this year's run on June 23-26. To get them there, a pair of matching Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupes will be the vehicle of choice for the two multi-time Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Touring One (T1) Divisional Champions.

Lux has had the highest highs and the lowest lows of the two drivers. This year she returns to Road America driving the No. 78 KUMHO Tires / Dodge Motorsports / SRT / Nike / MOMO USA / Forgeline Viper. In '04, Lux took top honors in the prestigious T1 class event with White a close second. In doing so, she became only the second woman in SCCA history to win her class at what is widely considered the second most important even on the Club Racing schedule - just behind the SCCA National Championship Runoffs to be held October 3-15 at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kan.

However, she has also tasted the bitter pill of not reaching the checkered flag; an unusual occurrence for the traditionally bulletproof NayKid Racing entries. Last season, Lux was taken out on the opening lap of the event by another competitor. The accident did heavy damage to her Dodge Viper SRT10 and to 1999 American Le Mans Series Women's Global GT Series Champion. Both would take nearly a month to be race-ready again. A separate incident on the same lap also did significant damage to 2005 teammate Ryan Snodgrass' entry. It marked the first Did Not Finish (DNF) in over 50 races spanning the previous two years for NayKid. White would finish a frustrated fifth.

"I think last year's race at the June Sprints was the hardest for our team," recounted Lux. "We wrecked two race cars and two out of the three drivers were transported to the infield care center. It was a really low period for the team. But we knew we had to bounce back in order to regain our championship style. It was a character building race which we are now stronger because of. The rally really showed at the Runoffs where we finished second and fifth. This is one of those races that if you have never been here, you really cannot understand how special the June Sprints are. The part that Scotty and I really benefit from at this place is how tchnical and precise this circuit requires the driver to be. Road America really commands a perfect setup on your race car to allow the driver to really stand hard on the gas. I think this year our Vipers are ready to give a serious challenge for the top-two steps on the podium. I am looking for a little redemption from this place from last year."

While NayKid Racing focuses primarily on the Northern Pacific (NorPac) Division and the Southern Pacific (SoPac) Division - Lux is a three-time champion (2003-2005) in NorPac while White has taken home the SoPac title six times including the last five straight - they make the commitment to travel east each year due to the prestige of competing in the June Sprints. Also, as the first gem in the SCCA's Triple Crown - June Sprints, a Division Title and a victory at the season-ending National Championship Runoffs - the Sprints draws the best T1 class cars from around North America. It is the first true indicator of where NayKid Racing stands in comparison with the rest of the country in performance.

"I am quietly confident about our new SRT hot rod's capability at the Sprints," said White who will race the No. 3 KUMHO Tires / Dodge Motorsports / SRT / CORSA Exhaust / Red Line Oil Viper. "Last year was a disaster to say the least and this track owes us one. I just hope she pays up if I ask her nicely but firmly to settle up; if you know what I mean? It's so funny. So many people think Road America is such a HP [horsepower] track. Sure there are two long straights but you spend so much time with thewheels turned and setting-up for the turns and trying to stop that if you're off just a bit you are nowhere. Last year was our first event with the T1 kit and we got it all wrong. This year I can promise you we will work our butts off to get it all right!"

Gary Johnson, Road Racing Manager for Dodge Motorsports gave the manufacturer's side of this important event; "The June Sprints are one of the most prestigious SCCA Club Racing events of the year. Most of the top driversin the country try to attend this race, aiming for the first leg of the Triple Crown. It's not only an honor to finish well during this race, but it gives you a peek to what the Runoffs in Topeka will look like this fall. Both Cindi and Scotty have finished well at Road America in the past, so we're confident the Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupes will run well against some of this season's newest T1 entries."
